How It Works

The Schedule Finder operates in three phases. In the creation phase, the organizer selects a date range and defines available time blocks (e.g., 9 AM–12 PM, 2 PM–5 PM across Monday to Friday). The tool generates a unique shareable URL containing the schedule configuration encoded in the URL parameters or a short unique ID.

In the voting phase, each participant opens the shared link and marks their availability for each time slot using a three-state system: Available (green), Maybe (yellow), or Unavailable (red/unmarked). Participant responses are aggregated in real-time.

In the results phase, the tool ranks all time slots by total availability score, highlighting the optimal meeting times. The scoring algorithm weights "Available" as 1 point and "Maybe" as 0.5 points. Ties are broken by preferring earlier dates and times. A visual heat map shows the group's collective availability at a glance, making it easy to identify consensus.
