Retirement Savings Calculator

Project how much you'll have saved by retirement.

About This Tool

The Retirement Calculator helps you estimate how much you need to save to retire comfortably. By entering your current age, target retirement age, desired monthly income, and expected investment returns, you can see whether your savings plan is on track or needs adjustment.

How It's Calculated

The calculator works in two phases:

1. Accumulation Phase (now → retirement): Calculates how your current savings and monthly contributions grow using compound interest: FV = PV(1+r)^n + PMT × [((1+r)^n − 1) / r]

2. Distribution Phase (retirement → end): Determines how long your nest egg lasts given monthly withdrawals, adjusted for inflation: Required Fund = Monthly Income × [(1 − (1+r')^(−m)) / r'], where r' = real return rate (nominal − inflation), m = months in retirement.

The gap between your projected fund and required fund shows whether you need to save more or can retire earlier.

⚠️ Disclaimer

Retirement planning involves many variables including market volatility, inflation changes, healthcare costs, and life expectancy. This calculator uses simplified assumptions and fixed rates. Work with a certified financial planner for a comprehensive retirement plan.
