Common Aspect Ratios

  • 1:1 β€” Instagram feed, profile photos, KakaoTalk profile
  • 16:9 β€” YouTube thumbnails, presentations, widescreen
  • 4:3 β€” Standard photos, documents, web images
  • 3:2 β€” DSLR photos, print (4Γ—6 inches)
  • 35Γ—45mm β€” Passport photo (international standard)
  • 3Γ—4cm β€” ID photo (Korean standard)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to crop images here?

Yes, completely safe. All image processing happens locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server.

Can I crop to passport photo dimensions?

Yes, passport (35Γ—45mm) and ID photo (3Γ—4cm) presets are provided. Select the ratio and drag to choose the area.

How do I crop for Instagram?

Select 'Instagram (1:1)' from the social media presets to automatically apply a square aspect ratio.

Does cropping reduce image quality?

Saving as PNG is lossless with no quality loss. For JPEG, setting quality to 90% or above produces virtually identical results.

Can I rotate and crop at the same time?

Yes, rotate or flip the image first, then select your crop area and apply. Both transforms are processed together.

How It Works

When you upload an image, it is rendered onto an HTML5 Canvas element entirely within your browser. The cropping region you select is translated into pixel coordinates, and the Canvas API's drawImage() method extracts exactly that rectangle into a new canvas. The result is then exported as a PNG or JPEG blob using toBlob(). Because all processing happens client-side via the Canvas API, your image files never leave your device β€” no server upload, no third-party access, complete privacy guaranteed.
